My independent reading this quarter was this book named "Jack's run" written by Roland Smith. This story happened in a town named Elko, in Los Angeles, and in Argentina. The main character of this story is Jack but there are other characters too like Joanne, Jack's dad and Alonzo Aznar.
This book is about a family that has a really big problem because their dad was member of a drug cartel and police has put him in jail. The problem is that the cartel leader Alonzo Aznar is afraid of being caught by that testification. Jack's dad had like a diary where he wrote all events that happened during the time he was in that cartel, Alonzo knew that, so he was afraid of what Jack's dad could do with it. Alonzo was searching Osborne family, because that was the only way that Jack's dad would not hand in the diary to the police. If Jack's dad hand in that diary obviously Alonzo will kill his family. Finally Alonzo could kidnap the Osborne family and he carry them to Argentina. Jack's dad was really worried and he went to Argentina to search them, while the Osborne family tried to escape too.
This book is worth to read because is really interesting. Chapter by chapter you want to know what will happen next and you kept reading it. This author did a great job making this book interesting and not like kind of bouring. I will recommend this book to people that like action, adventure and books and movies about drug cartels and that type of stuff. I like a lot this book because I don't get bored while I was reading it, I wanted to kept reading to see what will happen.
